Programs and Activities

At the Kinark Outdoor Centre (KOC), we offer three interconnected program areas: Family Connections, Clinical Supports, and Group Adventures. Across each of these program streams, KOC staff work closely with participants, families, schools, and community partners to create custom experiences that support unique goals, individual strengths, needs, and abilities. Whether fostering meaningful family relationships, providing therapeutic and clinical supports, or delivering engaging outdoor and group-based adventures, KOC is committed to creating inclusive, responsive, and impactful experiences for every participant.

During your visit to the KOC, you can have fun, learn new skills, and enjoy new experiences – all our activities are delivered in a fun and safe atmosphere. Outdoors, you can go rock climbing or for a hike, try the high and low ropes courses or archery, have a campfire, and participate in our Global Positioning System (GPS) course.

While inside, you can do arts and crafts, play board games, take part in team building initiatives, visit our Sustainable Living Centre, put on a presentation, and do some of our fun evening programs.

Depending on the season and weather conditions, your group may be able to visit our waterfront where you can go canoeing, kayaking, swimming, paddle boating, fishing, or take a pontoon boat ride.

Our Programs

At the KOC, we provide a variety of programs for children and youth on the autism spectrum and their families. These programs cater to varying levels of support, family goals and individual needs. The KOC also partners with elementary, secondary and post-secondary schools, summer camps and community organizations to facilitate outdoor recreation and adventure education programs.
